| A Word from our Editor-in-Chief
The ‘Journal of Spinal Surgery’ was inaugurated on the 17th of July 2009, at the Spine 2009 Conference in Kodaikanal, South India. It was welcomed in great spirits and was appreciated by one and all at the conference. It was a memorable occasion for me and the entire team who have toiled for over a year to make this dream project come true! The Journal was also introduced to national and international audiences at the Neurotrauma Conference, Jaipur, India and the XIV World Congress of Neurological Surgery, Boston, USA. As mentioned in one of my notes, spinal surgery is of recent recognition with breakthroughs and new developments taking place all the time; staying abreast of these is a difficult task. The Journal of Spinal Surgery is a peer-reviewed forum with a world-renowned group of editorial board members who are committed to highlighting the latest and the most authoritative views and reviews as quickly as possible. It takes a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure that every issue is updated with the best spinal surgical innovations and techniques and the critical thinking of leading neurosurgeons in the field. I wish to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who have accepted and appreciated this Journal. I also wish to applaud my editorial board, which is a team of national and international editors, who have given me and this journal time from their busy schedules to share and spread the knowledge of spinal surgery.
